The Independent Expert on the effects of foreign debt and other related international financial obligations of States on the full enjoyment of all human rights, particularly economic, social and cultural rights, Juan Pablo Bohoslavsky, conducted an official visit to Tunisia between 20 and 28 February 2017. The mandate of the Independent Expert is wide and complex, and is clearly framed within the scope and content of international human rights law and standards. In its most recent resolution extending the mandate1, the Human Rights Council requested the Independent Expert to, inter alia, pay particular attention to illicit financial flows, and the effects of foreign debt and the policies adopted to address them, on the full enjoyment of all human rights.
